About Me
I was born at The Coulston Foundation (TCF), a biomedical research laboratory in Alamogordo, NM to my mother Gigi and father Rufus. I was taken from my mother and raised in the laboratory nursery. I spent the first part of my life in biomedical research. On September 16, 2002, my life changed for the better when Save the Chimps took over TCF. I am now a part of Alice’s Family where I enjoy fresh food and a luxurious island to explore along with a chimp family.
During my sixteen years in biomedical research, I was a subject in eight different research studies, had 25 liver biopsies, and was anesthetized over 165 times. Today, my life is a far cry from the years of endless research studies and anesthesia. I am a sweet and friendly chimp who grows more and more into my playful and curious personality each day. I love playing chase with care staff and will make them run all over the place in an effort to “catch” me all the while laughing and smiling at their failed efforts. My best friends are Mikey and Garth, and we often choose to spend quiet time inside together when everyone else goes outdoors. I also enjoy spending sunny afternoons outside exploring the island with my family.
