About Me

I was born February 21, 1994, at The Coulston Foundation (TCF), a research lab in Alamogordo, NM. My mother’s name is Debby and my father’s name is Rufus. I was one of the few chimps at TCF who was raised by my mother, and in fact, I lived with her mom for seven years. For unknown reasons me and my mother were evetually separated. Save the Chimps unfortunately does not know if my mother passed away, or if she was sent to another laboratory.

When Save the Chimps rescued me in 2002, I was living in “The Dungeon” with another young female chimp. The two of us shared a dank, barren cage the size of a small bathroom. Fortunately, life got a lot brighter for me! Today I live in a large chimpanzee family known as Doug’s Group. I am a bit of a tomboy and I like hanging out with Rebel. I prefer the outdoors and am often the last one to come in for dinner. But I have a “girly” side too and am often spotted doing pirouettes, just because I can.
