About Me

I was born in 1974. Because I was born in the wild, nothing is known about my parents or a specific birth date. In the early days of primate research, it was common practice to kill the mother and other members of the group in order to capture an infant chimpanzee. I was purchased by The Coulston Foundation from Primate Imports in June 1976.

When Save the Chimps rescued the chimps from the Coulston Foundation, I became a part of Bobby’s group. Me and other members of my family migrated to Florida in January 2010 where we continued to meet new chimpanzees. One of the changes was that I had fresh produce in every meal. I am very mellow and sweet and am usually content to stay in the background until I reach a certain comfort level with my caregivers. But once that relationship is developed, I greet familiar caregivers with a smile. I love my family, I spend most of my day exploring my island with Chandra my closest friend, or relaxing in a nice hammock.
