About Me
I was born December 9, 1985, at The Coulston Foundation, a biomedical research lab in Alamogordo, NM. My parents’ names were Sally and Chuck. I was taken from my mother Sally 24 hours after birth and raised in a laboratory nursery. When I was just a little over a year old, I was assigned to a biomedical research study that lasted six months.
In September 2002, My life changed for the better when The Coulston Foundation closed and I was rescued by Save the Chimps. Today, I am a member of a chimpanzee family group called Alice’s family. We live on a large island at Save the Chimps’ sanctuary in Florida. Never again will I be used in biomedical research. Instead, I get to spend my days roaming the hills of my island home with my best friend and sister Lea. I enjoy fresh fruits and veggies, toys, blankets, and the compassion of loving caregivers.
