Before arriving at Save the Chimps in April 2023, I lived at a small privately owned zoo with an AirBnB in Ohio. I had access to a small play yard through a dark tunnel, but I never used it, and my skin was pale from not going outside. Everything changed when the Ohio Department of Agriculture granted custody of me, Anna, Lucy, and April to Save the Chimps. As soon as we arrived, we settled in quickly, embracing, grooming each other, and greeting the sanctuary staff. My bright personality began to shine, and I immediately explored our play yard, climbing to the top.
After completing quarantine, which is standard for any new arrival, I began the process of integrating into Seve’s family. Each day, I’ve spent time with new friends and started building relationships. Although I was a bit slow to warm up to new chimps during introductions, I grew comfortable over time and now enjoy interacting, especially with Kioki and Doc. I love hanging out in large nests, get playful when rap music is on, and prefer my chow soaked in water. Overall, I’m an intelligent and bright young chimp who loves to play and explore my island with the larger males in the group.
