savethechimps.org Launches Redesigned Website

A group of Air Force chimpanzees - previously held at a New Mexico laboratory - have a new home at The Save the Chimps in Fort Pierce, Florida. The sanctuary's website (savethechimps.org) also has a new home after an extensive redesign by Ft. Lauderdale-based development group Random Access (rxs.com)

"The goal of the website is obviously to promote awareness, but it also needs to generate financial and physical support." explained designer Matylda Samek. "To draw the kind of people who are willing - and able - to offer that support, the site needed a level of sophistication and style befitting their expectations. To that end, we stayed away from the model of other non-profit sites, choosing to draw inspiration from sites like National Geographic, Condé Nast Traveler and even Land Rover."

The Save the Chimps was established in 1997, under the leadership of Jane Goodall and Roger Fouts, to create a sanctuary where chimpanzees could live out the remainder of their lives in the best environment possible. Save the Chimps has been awarded custody of 21 of the Air Force chimpanzees.

Random Access (rxs.com) is a full-service internet development group specializing in high-end design as well as custom back end programming solutions. Their clients include; Tasco Binoculars, Ryder Systems, Baby Universe and Netrics to name a few.
