Since the broadcast of the film, which features Save the Chimps, PBS has received numerous inquiries from viewers about the chimps and their stories, which fulfilled one of our biggest hopes for the film - that it raise awareness of the lives of these chimpanzees.
The public response has made us feel very encouraged and hopeful. The film has also garnered a number of industry awards which can only help increase the profile of the story and the plight of chimpanzees in North America.
The film was recently nominated for an Emmy under the "Research" category. We were truly thrilled and honored to hear that "Chimpanzees: An Unnatural History" was announced the winner at the Emmy ceremony in New York.
