About Me

I was born to my parents Mary Jane and Bubba on February 4, 1995, in the Coulston Foundation. After three days with my mother, I was taken away from her and sent to the nursery to be raised by human caretakers. Like most baby chimps in this situation, I had bouts of fever and gastrointestinal issues. Fortunately for me, I was one of the lucky chimps who was not assigned to any studies. I did receive routine physicals. When Save the Chimps rescued the chimps, they began building large groups in preparation for the migration to the islands in Florida. I became part of a family named “Bobby’s group” and started forming new relationships. I have a life filled with fun and adventure. I have a spacious island to run around on, filled with nooks and crannies to explore. My caregivers challenge us by hiding enrichment in hard-to-find spots on the island and I am usually the first one to find it. I greet the caregivers every day with joy and excitement. I love to see my caregiver’s boots and will come running in from the island to check out an especially attractive pair. Sanctuary life provides me with the opportunity to live life to the fullest and I am taking advantage of every moment.
